Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 13

It’s the dramatic last episode, no time for fan service!

Well, here’s the last episode of Crime Edge. Somewhere along the line it changed from being a semi-psychological romance to being 90% loli fan service.

So apparently there’s a line that reads “We haven’t been able to do many t.” It should read “We haven’t been able to do many things as a couple.” How that happened? I HAVE NO IDEA. This is fixed in v2.

Episode 13: Torrent (v2) | Patch

Etoce (Translator, Timer, QC)

I’m not really sure what to think about this show. It had a completely fine premise and went along pretty well, and then at some point along the way it turned into loli fanservice (edit: NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH LOLI FANSERVICE). It was also awkward to time because characters would say fragments of sentence several seconds apart (which looks nice in manga but look awkward in subtitles). And there wasn’t nearly enough screen time for Kashiko, the best character. But it was fun to translate (usually) and I think we didn’t horribly fail this time.

Akatsukin (Editor, TLC, typesetting, song translation)

This show is the lewdest. It managed to hit upon nearly every common fetish, and a ton of random ones too. I had a lot of fun improving my skills (?) on this, and though I loved it and want a second season, I’m not quite ready for it yet. Look forward to our next season and the last cour of Aikatsu!

P.S. Lolicon is justice.

Yuyu (Encoder)

Working on Crime Ecchi was all kinds of weird. In my opinion, it started out really well, but managed to turn itself into something quite boring and horrible to watch. Let’s not even start with all the fanservice they somehow managed to throw in mid-way (not that I didn’t like that, though). Anyway, I hope you managed to enjoy the show as well as our subs as much as you can!

Here is a beautiful picture of Iwai as a last present from me.

…By the way, where’s Izumi?

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 12

It was all a dream!

Resumes and interviews suck. I am so tired. Maybe if I could find some people to play baseball with me…

Delays this time caused by “wait, where is the final encode?”.

Episode 12: Torrent

Akatsukin edit: Yep, still delayed due to encoder not being around for a day and us not being on our subbing computers. Also, his computer obviously hates lolis being abused. Just a warning that this is still delayed until tonight fucking Friday, and for the same reason Aikatsu will be delayed an entire day two days.  Yep, every member of this team has had bad luck this week.  Go figure.

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 10

Not quite the pirate the manga cover promised…

There are a few things that I want to note.

1. The title of the episode is a terrible pun in Japanese with “standing ovation” and “baby”. It gets even worse in English.

2. There appears to be a typo or transcription mistake (in Japanese) in one of the text messages. We translated it as if it wasn’t incorrect. I’m too lazy to check which one right now but if I get un-lazy soon I’ll edit that in.

3. Something else. I’m kinda sleepy. I’ll remember all the things I wanted to say eventually. It can’t be helped.

Episode 10: Torrent

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 09

You don’t see it here, but in this show, ellipses have four dots.

Today I have two TL notes for you.

1) When Kozakura starts talking about “surrogates”, she’s saying 代償, which is actually how “Instead” is normally written. Whether this is intentional or just a voice actor reading it incorrectly is unknown.

2) The title of the next episode is スタンディング・ベイベーション, or “Standing Babytion”. It’s a lame pun with “standing ovation” (like in baseball) and “baby” (as in the new character you’ll meet next week). And it’s even lamer after it gets translated to English. Oh well. It couldn’t be helped.

Episode 09: Torrent

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 07

A scene.

Thing seven of scissors-hair.

I was assured that everyone knows about the suspension bridge effect, but I had barely heard of it so I guess maybe I should explain it here? But if everyone knows about it then it’d look stupid if I tried to explain it, so I guess I won’t. Also, I was assured that nobody else knows the proper use of the term “fetishism”, so I’ll leave it at that.

Episode 07: Torrent

(Last sentence there was Akatsukin roleplaying as Etoce).

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – 05

The level of abridgment in this episode was horrifying.

I wish they didn’t cut so many of the cutesy parts out…

Anyway, Romio’s name is spelled that way because it’s originally written in kanji, and that’s how that kind of name is romanized. Besides, it’s even spelled with an “i” in the email he gets.

And their school is an elevator school, though I don’t think there’s really anything confusing about it this episode. It basically means that you get to go directly from one level to another (for example, middle to high) without taking tests (as you would normally have to).

New edit: Well fuck.  The v2 we made was missing fonts and the chapter file.  Not as big an issue as having the wrong script, so let’s just keep adding things until we can’t handle it anymore.  No patch this time, just the files.

Also, Aikatsu delayed until Friday.

Poor Kashiko…

So apparently, the anime decided not to have Rulebook dude introduce himself outright, so there’s a joke that doesn’t really come across as clearly in the anime as it does in the manga. Not that we translated it anyway.

Basically, in the scene where he talks about his ancestor, he ends it with “seigi da ze”, or “that was/that is/it is/I am/etc justice”. And his name is Seigi. Which means justice. Clever, I know. In the manga, when Kiri replies “What justice?” he just says “What are you talking about? I’m just introducing myself.”

Here I don’t think you actually find out his name until police girl mentions it.

Anyway, now that you’ve possibly spoiled yourself, here’s the episode:
