I was definitely waiting until the right time between series to release this, not just being too lazy to sub a 10-line 45-second PV. This is just Youtube quality, feel free to reupload it if you have a better rip. I really only did it for posterity. Also, scroll down now if you want to see the Behind the Subs panel, I finally put it up.
The translation of Aikatsu Stars 100 is done, and I’m on the train home now from the con. We’ll have it out tomorrow if all goes well.
Blog below (not anime/sort of anime/extremely Aikatsu)
UPDATE: Episode out, and video link to my panel is now below.
Whoa, I did it! Yes, I subbed our first one of these special episodes, and from the very same room at home that I rarely return to where I ignored the very first “special” episode before 12 of the original series on Christmas. This is almost entirely live action, with interviews and just general chatting between the voice actresses of Ichigo, Akari, Yume, and a few other special guests. It’s not exactly necessary to watch, but I certainly enjoyed it. Also be warned that this is a bit below our usual quality, as I only did one pass on it and there’s no editing or typesetting. Plus, doing real people talking off-script is super hard compared to anime. It’s still fine to watch though, so enjoy if you’d like. It’s pretty inspirational and moving at parts.
We are proud to present the double feature of Aikatsu and Aikatsu Stars movies! The Aikatsu movie can be watched after the series, and the Aikatsu Stars movie should be watched immediately after episode 18. Of course, most of us had to wait in any case, but for those of you catching up that’s where it goes in the timeline. Enjoy.
Man, this was something. Not only should the Drama CD have been out with the first movie, the Music Awards happened before season 4 even aired. Even if you’ve never listened/watched a Drama CD before, you should definitely see this one if you like Aikatsu.
The movie’s all about show show show. We tried to make the feeling of the script as close to the original as possible, but it’s predictably difficult. Oh, and that’s because 賞 means award, and it also means SHOW, and it’s also a verb ending meaning “let’s [verb]”. There were also 21 songs in the entire thing, including a performance straight from episode 60 and songs from season 1. Complicated signs were left out so that I don’t blow up your toasters. Right, you should already be somewhat familiar with what the Budokan is too from either baseball or other music shows. There’s probably more I’m forgetting, just remind me if you catch anything.
Phew, another promise kept. See you all for Aikatsu Stars.
Sumire doesn’t get enough spotlight.
Akatsukin is coping with various malignant ailments, wandering through manyfold tribulations, and possibly partaking in a multitude of traitorous activities, so I ended up translating this episode. Man, it’s been a while. And of course I get the episode about fucking soil.
I don’t think there was anything that really merited a TL note, so I’m not going to mention any. Speaking of things I won’t mention, it’s totally not Shion’s birthday today.
Akari face compilation after the break.
This has been delayed for two weeks for approximately no reason, so I figure it’s finally time. There are no fixes in this. My hope is that we will eventually release a proper BD batch of the entire season, although when that’ll happen I don’t know. Also, as of yesterday, Mezashite! Fansubs is two years old. Well, I think that first post was made just before midnight, so today is also sort of the anniversary. Let’s see how long we can keep it up.
This is late for reasons beyond my control. Hm, what to say… I feel as though this episode validated my choice of fansub group name. Good things are happening. Oh yeah, and did you know that whereas the Chinese star anise has anti-flu medicinal properties, the Japanese one is a deadly neurotoxin? Quite scary.
Episode 94: Torrent
Hey, hey. I thought of the best Brynhildr pun just now. Too bad I didn’t think of it when it was relevant.
And on an unrelated note, why does Wikipedia seem to prefer the two-word version of compound words for article titles? There’s photo shoot, punch line, and burn down chart. Photoshoot, punchline, and burndown chart are way more natural to me.
What, you want the pun? After the break. Because spoilers.
